The source
Every report uses the same source: Tanqeeb, a job aggregator with one site per country. Tanqeeb collects listings from other job boards (LinkedIn, Bayt, Naukri Gulf, GulfTalent, national boards) and shows, for each listing, the board it came from. That is why each report can say which boards carry a country's jobs.
Collection
- A scraper built on Apify (the Tanqeeb Jobs Scraper) reads Tanqeeb's public search pages for one country and one posting window.
- Tanqeeb shows at most 10,000 results per search. When a country has more, the collection is split into smaller searches (by region and by category) until every listing is reachable.
- Duplicates are removed by listing ID. Each report states how many listings Tanqeeb reported and how many were collected.
Our source rule
Before using any site, we read its terms of use and its robots.txt. If either forbids scraping, crawling or automated data collection, or is unclear, we do not use the site. Tanqeeb's terms do not prohibit it and its robots.txt allows the pages used. A country also needs at least 1,500 listings, so the numbers are not built on a handful of ads.
No personal data
Some listings include a recruiter's name, email or phone number. The scraper skips those fields. Reports only use counts, company names and the listing's public details.
Time windows
The first five countries (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Lebanon) cover listings posted in the last 30 days. From Jordan on, reports cover 90 days, because several countries had fewer than 1,500 listings in 30 days. Every page states its window. Shares can be compared across windows; listing counts and repeat rates cannot.
How the main numbers are defined
- Region: the label the job board gives the listing, kept as published. Several boards file every listing under the capital (for example Bayt in Morocco, Lebanon and Egypt), so reports flag when a share is a board default.
- Hotels: listings whose company name matches a hotel brand or contains "Hotel" or "Resort".
- Shows a salary: the listing's salary field is filled in. Typical salaries use the midpoint of the advertised range, in the local currency, and skip placeholders such as "1 - 1".
- Repeats: listings with the same title, company and region as another listing in the same window.
- Weekdays: average new listings per day; the first and last days of the window are partial and left out, and so are days when one board added hundreds of listings at once.
What the data does not show
- These are listings on one aggregator, not every job in a country, and not hires.
- One listing can cover several positions, and the same vacancy can appear on two boards.
- A missing salary does not mean a job is unpaid.
- Boards sometimes mislabel listings, for example jobs abroad filed under the country, or hotel jobs filed under IT. Reports keep labels as published and flag the cases found.
